BRR 001: The Prison Industrial Complex w/ Bri Ruiz
Today's BRR guest, Bri Ruiz (they/he/she), is an NYU Gallatin sophomore whose work focuses on how the prison industrial complex affects marginalized communities and groups of color within New York City.
Natalie and Bri discuss student relations with public safety officers on NYU's campus, gentrification as it relates to redlining, and The Incarceration to Education Coalition's protests urging NYU to divest from food provider Aramark.
